Vodafone Egypt has confirmed the renewal of its partnership with renowned Egyptian and international footballer Mohamed Salah as its 5G ambassador, continuing a collaboration that began in 2017. The move highlights Vodafone Egypt’s dedication to innovation, excellence, and leadership in the digital connectivity space.
The announcement comes as Vodafone Egypt expands its 5G coverage to over 3,000 urban areas nationwide, stretching from Alexandria to Aswan. Since June, the rollout has grown from around 2,000 to more than 3,000 urban locations, demonstrating the company’s commitment to strengthening its infrastructure and making advanced 5G services accessible across Egypt’s major cities and governorates.
This expansion is part of Vodafone Egypt’s wider strategy to accelerate 5G deployment, creating a cutting-edge digital network that enhances the daily lives of Egyptians. Central to this vision is Mohamed Salah, whose values of leadership, resilience, and national pride align with Vodafone’s ambition to drive 5G adoption and technological innovation.
Karim Eid, Vice President of the Commercial Sector at Vodafone Egypt, stated that the renewed partnership represents one of the most significant long-term collaborations in the Egyptian market, built on trust and shared success. He noted that Salah’s role as 5G ambassador is especially relevant as the company prepares for high-profile events like the Africa Cup of Nations, where stable, high-speed connectivity is crucial for live streaming and content consumption.
Vodafone Egypt’s 5G network is designed to deliver seamless, high-quality digital experiences, supporting activities such as live streaming, video conferencing, and other data-intensive applications. The network also enhances efficiency, increases capacity, and supports IoT solutions in sectors including healthcare, education, transportation, and industry. Furthermore, the expanded infrastructure lays the groundwork for smart city projects, augmented and virtual reality applications, and broader digital innovation.
Through this partnership, Vodafone Egypt and Mohamed Salah continue to embody a vision of a fully connected, interactive digital future, with 5G technology transforming how millions of Egyptians work, communicate, and enjoy entertainment in their daily lives.
