Motorola is taking updates seriously this year and has already released the latest Android 16 update for several of its devices. The smartphone company is also testing Android 16 beta on a bunch of devices. The Moto Pad 60 Pro is now the latest device to receive the Android 16 Beta update.
In a Reddit post, a user shared that his friend has already received the Android 16 update through the development version, which is more likely to be a beta update. The Android 16 beta update for the Moto Pad 60 Pro is available with software version 17.5.02.026.
The Moto Pad 60 Pro was released in 2023 with Android 14 OS. The device received its first major update, Android 15, earlier this year. It will soon receive its last major update as Android 16, after the beta testing phase is complete. Yes, the device is only eligible for two major OS upgrades.
Apart from the software version, the user didn’t reveal any other information, such as the new features. However, we expect that the Android 16 beta for the Moto Pad 60 Pro will include the same changes that have been made available to other Motorola phones with the same update.
If we analyze the recently released Android 16 update for Edge 60 Stylus, it introduces expressive redesigns, improved security and performance, better compatibility with LE Audio devices, and more transparent background activities. You can expect these changes also with the Android 16 beta for the Moto Pad 60 Pro.
If you own the Moto Pad 60 Pro and have enrolled in the beta program, you may need to wait a bit longer for the update. However, if you have enrolled in the beta program or MFN, you can check for the update in the Settings.
Once the update is available on your device, take a back up of your data before installing it. Make sure to install the update when the device is at normal temperature to avoid any issues.
