The iQOO 15 launched in China in October and elsewhere in November, and we recently heard that it will soon be joined by the iQOO 15 Ultra, which, according to the latest rumor on the matter, will boast the biggest active cooling fan ever seen in a smartphone.
Today the prolific Chinese leaker who goes by Digital Chat Station on Weibo has shared when we should expect the iQOO 15 Ultra to be launching – in early February.
That aligns with earlier rumors which simply stated it would arrive before the Chinese New Year, which is on February 17. And the brand itself has just confirmed that the phone will arrive before that holiday.
What’s still very unclear is if iQOO will ever offer the 15 Ultra outside of China. We’re obviously hoping the answer is yes, but we’ve seen no indication of an international launch so far.
The iQOO 15 Ultra will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 just like the iQOO 15, and will also have the same 6.85-inch 1440×3168 LTPO AMOLED screen with 144Hz refresh rate and 6,000-nit peak brightness.
Unlike the vanilla model, the Ultra will have the aforementioned active cooling fan as well as shoulder buttons, as it will be clearly focused on gaming.
