Orange Sierra Leone has announced the appointment of Madam Aïcha Touré as its new Chief Executive Officer, ushering in a new phase of leadership and strategic direction for the telecommunications company. She officially assumed the role following a warm reception from the outgoing CEO, Mr. Sekou Amadou Bah, who introduced her to the company through a guided tour of key facilities, including the Orange Digital Center and technical departments, as well as engagement sessions with staff.
Madam Touré brings more than 12 years of experience across the telecommunications, technology, and financial services sectors. She joined the Orange Group in 2017 as Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer at Orange Mali, where she played a central role in major transformation initiatives, including the rollout of 4G services, the expansion of fibre infrastructure, and improved access to energy solutions. In 2019, she was appointed CEO of Orange Money Mali, where she led the business to become the national leader in financial inclusion.
An accomplished executive with a strong academic background, Madam Touré holds a master’s degree in engineering from CentraleSupélec and an Executive MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where she was a Sloan Fellow. She is widely recognised for her commitment to using digital innovation as a tool for inclusive growth and economic empowerment across African markets.
Orange Sierra Leone also paid tribute to the outgoing CEO, Mr. Sekou Amadou Bah, acknowledging his significant contributions to the company’s development. During his tenure, the operator achieved key milestones in network and infrastructure expansion, enhanced customer experience, and advanced digital empowerment initiatives across the country.
With Madam Touré at the helm, Orange Sierra Leone says it is positioning itself for a renewed era of growth, innovation, and strengthened impact, as the company continues to expand digital connectivity and services in Sierra Leone.
