The Digilians initiative is a fully funded scholarship program designed to train young Egyptians across governorates in Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs). The program is implemented in partnership with major technology companies, educational providers, and international universities. It offers multiple academic tracks, covering disciplines such as software development, Artificial Intelligence (AI), data science, networks, technological infrastructure, cybersecurity, embedded systems, electronic systems, and digital arts. Participants can enroll in a four-month Intensive Diploma, nine-month Specialized Diploma, 12-month Professional Master’s, or a 24-month Master of Science program.
The MoUs were signed by Vice ICT Minister for Infrastructure and Digital Transformation Raafat Hindy and representatives from the 30 industry partners, which include EMC Egypt (Dell), Fortinet, Google, Huawei Egypt, IBM Egypt, Microsoft, Palo Alto Networks, Vodafone Egypt, Brightskies, Cloudflare, and others. These companies will provide training materials, exam vouchers, project supervision, technical guidance, and field training opportunities. They will also participate in job fairs, deliver awareness sessions and workshops, mentor hackathons, and connect graduates to employment opportunities within their business networks.
Minister Talaat conveyed a message from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, highlighting that the Digilians initiative aims to create a new generation of highly skilled ICT professionals capable of driving innovation and strengthening Egypt’s global position in the technology sector. He emphasized that the program equips youth not only with technical skills but also soft skills, language proficiency, and practical workplace experience, enabling them to compete effectively in a global labor market increasingly shaped by digital transformation.
Director Zaher affirmed the Egyptian Military Academy’s commitment to providing the necessary resources to train youth under the Digilians initiative and other programs, in line with presidential directives.
The collaboration with partner companies is expected to empower youth with advanced digital skills, foster innovation and entrepreneurship, and accelerate Egypt’s digital transformation under the Digital Egypt strategy. By combining rigorous academic training with real-world industry experience, the initiative aims to develop a competitive and sustainable digital workforce, ready to meet the demands of Egypt’s growing ICT sector.
