There’s a brand-new single-player survival game on the horizon, and a lot of players are excited about it. This game takes place in a post-apocalyptic time zone between Finland and Russia. Your goal is simple- survive, plan, and cross the borders into Vostok. The real question is, will you be able to survive in Vostok?
If you are tired of the numerous multiplayer survival games and just want to enjoy some single-player survival games. In this guide, you will know about Road to Vostok Release Date, Trailer, System Requirements, and more.
Road to Vostok: Announcement and Release Date
Road to Vostok was first revealed to the world in 2020, inspired by the popular survival game, Escape from Tarkov. Two years after the reveal, a public demo was made live on Steam for players to download and test out the game. The demo is still available for you to try if you want to test it out today.
With all the development works going on between 2021 and 2026, the developer has finally revealed the release date. Road to Vostok is now set for release on the 7th of April 2026. Pre-orders are yet to be revealed. The game will be available at launch for €14.99 instead of the original €19.99 price tag.
Road to Vostok: Trailer and Gameplay
The early access trailer for Road to Vostok was revealed early this year. In this early access trailer, we get to explore the game world, its environments, as well as a glimpse of the guns and the game menus.
Let’s now talk about the gameplay for Road to Vostok. Road to Vostok is a system-driven game rather than being a story or a narrative-driven game. As a player, your focus will be on the environments, survival skills, and the missions you are tasked with. While the goal is to cross the borders into Vostok, there are a lot of hardships along the way. A simple mistake can bring everything to a standstill.
The developers state that the game features realistic FPS game mechanics, hostile factions, shelter customizations, day and night cycles, as well as the inclusion of dynamic weather and events. When you launch the game for the first time, your journey begins in Area 05- a deserted zone in Finland. However, there are hostile bandits who will try to take over Area 05. Your goal is to survive and take as much loot as possible so that you can continue your journey into the Border Zone.
The Border Zone is where things can get tricky. You need to watch out for mines and obstacles while crossing through the Border Zone. While you come across various challenges to complete along the way, you need to watch out for the Guards. The Guards make use of air support to monitor the border to prevent people from escaping into Vostok. So yes, you need to plan and exit the border undetected.
Once you enter Vostok, the risks and rewards are pretty high. Vostok has a ton of loot and is controlled by the military. What players need to understand is that if you die in Area 05 or the Border Zone, you will lose all carrying equipment. But if you die in Vostok, you will lose everything, so having a strategy on what to carry and what you should skip is essential once you enter Vostok.
You can trade or barter various items with characters who deal with specific items, such as weapons, tools, medication, food, and even furniture. The game also has a number of safe zones for you to save your game. Each shelter is different from the others, and you can customize them to your liking, and you can also add furniture of your choice by either buying it or trading items with the traders in the game.

Road to Vostok: Multiplayer Support
While many survival FPS games out there have multiplayer support, Road to Vostok skips the multiplayer aspect at least for now. There could be a future where the developer might consider adding multiplayer/co-op support, but nothing is concrete for the time being.
The other main reason is that this game is being worked on by a solo developer, so integrating multiplayer elements and servers into the game will be a mammoth task. This is also the reason the game will not have support for Linux, macOS devices, the Steam Deck, or even the consoles from Microsoft and Sony.

Road to Vostok: Other Games to Try
