Orange Botswana has formalised a strategic partnership with the Botswana Special Economic Zones Authority following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Orange Head Office.
The agreement establishes a framework for collaboration across several areas, including technical support, branding, joint marketing initiatives, innovation, and corporate social responsibility. It also sets the stage for the development and deployment of advanced digital solutions such as IoT-enabled utilities, smart security systems, digital platforms, and enhanced connectivity services within Botswana’s Special Economic Zones.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, CEO Nene Maiga highlighted the strategic importance of the partnership in driving the development of smart and connected economic zones. She noted that the collaboration is aligned with a shared vision to attract investment, support enterprise growth, and strengthen Botswana’s competitiveness as an investment destination.
The partnership reflects Orange Botswana’s broader commitment to supporting the country’s digital transformation and economic development agenda. By combining connectivity expertise with SEZA’s mandate to develop economic zones, the initiative is expected to accelerate innovation and create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.
