MTN South Africa has expanded its education support efforts through its foundation by donating digital learning devices to Qibing Secondary School in Wepener as part of its Back2School campaign. The initiative highlights the company’s ongoing commitment to advancing digital inclusion and improving access to quality education in underserved communities.
Qibing Secondary School, a Quintile 1 institution serving one of the province’s most disadvantaged areas, recently achieved a milestone by recording a 100% matric pass rate in 2025—the first in its 46-year history. The device handover is aimed at supporting continued academic success by equipping students with the tools needed for digital learning and research.
The initiative forms part of MTN’s broader national education strategy, which has seen the delivery of nearly 1,200 devices to schools across the country, the establishment of over 400 multimedia centres, and the provision of zero-rated learning platforms that reach hundreds of thousands of learners.
Through collaboration with district officials, local leaders, and strategic partners, MTN South Africa continues to invest in strengthening public education. The programme is also aligned with the country’s broader nation-building agenda, using technology as a catalyst to create opportunities and bridge the digital divide for learners.
