MTN South Sudan officially launched the 2026 21 Days of Y’ello Care, MTN’s flagship employee volunteerism campaign, bringing together employees, healthcare partners, government institutions, and communities to support improved access to healthcare services across South Sudan.
Running from 1st to 21st June 2026 under the theme “Expand Equitable Health for Every Community,” this year’s campaign focuses on advancing maternal and child health while supporting broader community wellbeing through practical, people-centered healthcare interventions.
Implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Health, Juba Teaching Hospital, and the World Health Organization (WHO), the initiative reflects a shared commitment to improving health outcomes and strengthening healthcare access for vulnerable and underserved communities.
As part of the campaign, MTN South Sudan employees will dedicate their time, skills, and resources to a range of volunteer-driven initiatives at Juba Teaching Hospital and within surrounding communities.
Planned Key Initiative include:
- Solarisation of the Antenatal Care Unit at Juba Teaching Hospital.
- Provision of sustainable power solutions for incubators supporting premature newborns.
- Repair and restoration of the hospital’s CT Scan machine.
- Provision of essential medical equipment including ultrasound machines, suction machines, and autoclaves.
- Dissemination of SMS-based health education messaging and voice-based health messaging to reach expectant mothers and families with vital health information.
- Zero-rating maternal health content to improve access to critical healthcare information.
- Introduction of a voice-based health messaging system for expectant mothers
- Introduction of a USSD MoMo donation platform to enable staff and stakeholders to contribute towards maternal health initiatives.
The campaign seeks not only to provide immediate support, but also to create sustainable impact by strengthening collaboration, promoting health awareness, and leveraging technology to help bridge healthcare access gaps for expectant mothers.
