AMD today announced three products at Computex 2026. One of these is a re-released 4-year-old CPU, another is a scaled down version of a 3-year-old CPU, and the third is a year-old graphics card. Just in case you were wondering how the home PC gaming industry is currently going.
The first is the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, which was discontinued in 2024 after a two-year run. This was the first CPU by AMD to feature the company’s 3D V-Cache technology. It’s now being brought back, as it is based on the AM4 platform that can still be run on DDR4 memory. Speaking of AM4, the platform is celebrating its 10-year anniversary this year, and the re-released 5800X3D will have an Anniversary Edition badge on the packaging. It also includes a Carbice Ice Pad, which is a thermal pad that replaces typical thermal compound. All of this for $349, which is about $100 less than the 5800X3D launch price, although the CPU was frequently sold for much less when it used to be on sale. It will be on sale again June 25.

The company also launched the Ryzen 7 7700X3D. This is a scaled-back version of the popular 7800X3D from 2023, but now runs at 4.5GHz boost clock instead of 5GHz, and 4GHz base clock instead of 4.2GHz. The rest of the specifications are identical. The 7700X3D is priced at $329, which might seem less than the 5800X3D price. However, the 7700X3D is based on the AM5 platform, which mandates DDR5 memory, so be prepared to mortgage your house unless you don’t have a pair of sticks already. It will go on sale July 16. The company also reiterated its commitment to the AM5 platform, saying it will now be supported up to 2029.

Finally, there’s the sole graphics card, the Radeon RX 9070 GRE. The GRE or Golden Rabbit Edition, are China-exclusive cards that eventually go on sale elsewhere. The RX 9070 GRE launched in China last year but is now going on sale globally. Compared to the standard 9070, the 9070 GRE has eight fewer compute units at 48 but a roughly 200Mhz higher clock speed at 2220MHz. It comes with 12GB GDDR6 memory with 192-bit memory interface and 18Gbps bandwidth. AMD claims the 9070 GRE offers 21% faster performance on average compared to the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB. It’s priced at $549 and will go on sale on June 2.
