June 15, 2026 — Cohere is expanding its UK presence with a move to 100 New Oxford Street, placing the company at the heart of one of the strongest artificial intelligence clusters in Europe, close to leading AI talent. The new office gives Cohere over 14,000 sq ft of workspace, almost tripling the size of its current footprint and creating capacity for up to 100 people.
The expansion represents a strategic milestone in the company’s broader European growth trajectory. The move builds upon several key developments including its intent to join forces with Germany’s Aleph Alpha announced in April, the acquisition of Reliant AI, and Memorandums of Understanding with both Spain’s Indra Group and the UK Government.
These partnerships establish a robust framework for collaboration on sovereign AI initiatives while the company continues to expand its customer footprint through deals with industry leaders like RWS and The Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team.
“This move represents an investment in London’s R&D ecosystem and our ability to service growing customer demand for frontier, enterprise-grade AI,” said Aidan Gomez, Co-Founder and CEO. “By expanding our London footprint threefold, we’re positioning ourselves at the heart of the UK’s sovereign AI revolution, where government and enterprise interest in secure artificial intelligence is accelerating.”
“London is at the forefront of the AI revolution, and Cohere’s decision to significantly expand its presence in our capital is a strong vote of confidence in our city, our talent and our economy,” said London Mayor Sadiq Khan. “This investment will create exciting new opportunities for Londoners, support high-skilled jobs and help cement London’s position as a global leader in artificial intelligence, as we continue building a more prosperous London for everyone.”
London has long served as a key hub for Cohere’s engineering, research, and commercial operations, with both CEO Aidan Gomez and CTO Phil Blunsom based in the UK. Across London, the UK, and Europe, Cohere continues to invest in talent spanning AI engineering, applied machine learning, infrastructure, and customer deployment teams. With strong revenue from active contracts across highly regulated sectors including finance, healthcare, manufacturing, telecommunications, energy, and the public sector, Cohere’s London footprint is closely aligned with the city’s strengths in financial and professional services, where its sovereign AI solutions are particularly well suited.
“The UK combines unparalleled research talent with forward-thinking regulatory frameworks,” said Gomez. “This expansion builds on the country’s unique position as a global AI hub, bridging European values with international market access and helping shape the projected $600 billion sovereign AI market.”
The office will undergo a new fit-out led by London-based Thirdway Design due to complete later this year and will consolidate Cohere’s growing team on a single floor in a warm, light-filled contemporary workspace designed to foster collaboration and innovation.
