Samsung has expanded its One UI 8 beta program to more Galaxy devices. Following the release of beta updates for the Galaxy S23 series and some budget phones yesterday, Samsung today released the beta for Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5.
The One UI 8 beta goes live for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Fold 5 in Korea, and it may soon expand to more regions, maybe later this week. The first beta update for the Galaxy Flip 5 is available with the build version ZYHC, which is likely to be the same for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 as well. The update weighs around 3GB.
Samsung started the beta program for its sixth-generation foldables in mid-August, introducing several new features and changes. The One UI 8 beta brings similar changes to the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 as well.
One UI 8 stands out in terms of its performance. It takes the user experience to the next level with its smooth animations and quick response. While it boasts new features, the first beta may not provide a stable experience, since it is meant for testing. However, it will improve with later beta builds.
If you own Galaxy Z Flip 5 or Fold 5, you can now enroll in the One UI 8 beta program. You can do this in the Samsung Members app. In the app, you’ll see a One UI 8 beta banner, open it, and follow its instructions to register for the beta program.
After registration, the first One UI 8 beta will be available instantly. You can check for the update in Settings > Software Update > Download and Install.
Before installing the update, make sure to back up your important data and charge your device to at least 50%.
With the beta announcement for the Fold 5 and Flip 5, Samsung has now released the beta for almost every beta-eligible device.
