OnePlus has yet to announce the Android 16-based OxygenOS 16 for its devices officially. However, the company has now started recruiting closed beta testers for its upcoming version of OxygenOS for the OnePlus 13R.
The OnePlus 13R is the third OnePlus device to gain access to the Closed Beta, following the OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13s. Currently, OnePlus is accepting closed beta testers from India. There’s no information on whether the CBT will expand to other regions.
If you own a OnePlus 13R in India and want to participate in the closed beta testing of Android 16-based OxygenOS 16, you can follow these steps to apply.
- First, make sure you are a member of the OnePlus Community and your phone is running the latest version CPH2691_15.0.0.850(EX01) or CPH2691_15.0.0.860(EX01).
- Go to Settings > About Device.
- Tap Up to Date and then tap the icon in the top right corner.
- Now choose the available beta program and follow the on-screen instructions to apply.
OnePlus is currently accepting only 300 users, and the application deadline is September 13. If your application is approved for the CBT, you’ll receive the OxygenOS 16 OTA update. You can download it from Settings > About Device > Download Now.
This is a confidential closed beta program, so you can’t share its details publicly. However, you can report bugs and share suggestions through the OS Testing app. Additionally, you’ll receive an SMS for an invitation to join a private Telegram group for the latest updates on the OxygenOS 16 Beta.
Since this is the closed beta, there could be many issues, including major ones. So make sure you are aware of the risks before installing the closed beta build. It is only recommended for users who are aware of its risks or use the OnePlus 13R as a secondary device. Always take a backup of your device before installing an update.
As of now, OnePlus hasn’t shared what new features will be included in the update.
