Burkina Faso and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have formalized a new partnership to boost the West African nation’s digital transformation. On Friday, 19 September 2025, in Abu Dhabi, the Minister of Digital Transition, Postal and Electronic Communications, Dr. Aminata Zerbo/Sabane, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sheik Muhammad Shameen Hosenbocus, Vice President of Presight International Services, a G42 company serving as the UAE government’s technical arm in the digital sector.
The signing ceremony was attended by Burkina Faso’s Ambassador to the UAE, Dr. Souleymane Konate.
The agreement aims to strengthen Burkina Faso’s digital economy through initiatives in artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure development, e-government services, and enhanced cybersecurity. It paves the way for structural projects that align with the government’s ongoing digital transformation agenda, which seeks to drive inclusive development through digitalization.
