Fighting games are fun. They get even more fun when you have friends to play with. Now, Tekken is a very popular franchise, and frankly, it needs no introduction. The latest available Tekken game, which you can play in 2025, is Tekken 8, released on January 26, 2024.

Tekken 8: Armor King, Release Date
Yes, you’ve read that right! Armor King – the new character for Tekken 8! The new character will be live in the game on the 16th of October 2025. However, if you are someone who has purchased the season 2 Character Pass for Tekken 8, then you should be able to play as Armor King via access from the 13th of October 2025.
The Season 2 Character Pass for Tekken 8 will cost you $39.99. This character season pass gives you early access to new characters that will be added to the game. At a later date, players will also get access to a new fighter, Miary Zo, and a new stage, Baobab Horizon.
Tekken 8: Armor King: Gameplay Trailer
The gameplay trailer for the upcoming character for Tekken 8 was revealed to fans on the 4th of August 2025. The trailer features the crowd chanting Armor King and the announcer revealing that the character is returning to fight in the ring. The trailer features gameplay where Amor King can be seen fighting with Fakhumram (a character that was revealed on the 26th of May this year).
We also get to see another fight scene between Armor King and Steve Fox. It is in this fight scene that we get to see Armor King use his Poison Gas Mask to spit into Steve Fox’s face to keep him stunned, resulting in Steve Fox not being able to fight back for a moment. The gameplay trailer shows you even more fight scenes between Armor King and the other characters from Tekken 8.
Tekken 8: King Armor: What’s New?
Well, let’s take a look at what’s new, with the brand-new character coming soon to Tekken 8. For starters, the birthday of King Armor is celebrated on the 17th of January, and his style of fighting is Pro Wrestling. As seen from the gameplay trailer, Armor King uses a combination of classic-style wrestling with his newly added attacks with fire. Armor King also has a glowing mane that gives him an angry and tough villain.
Tekken 8: Early Access
Early Access to characters and other content in Tekken 8 can be achieved by purchasing the Season 2 Character Pass. Here is a list of all the characters that were released via the season 2 pass.

- Fahkumram: 11th July 2025
There was also a new battle stage called PAC Pixels that was released on the 11th of July 2025. With Armor King getting a confirmed release date of 13th October (Early Access) and 16th October, fans of Tekken 8 can expect Miary Zo and the new battle stage- Baobab Horizon to be released towards the end of this year. Getting the season pass gives you 72 hours of early access to the character and the battle stage, before general release to all other players.
