Following the Zenfone 12 Ultra, Asus has now announced the Android 16 preview program for the ZenFone 11 Ultra and ROG Phone 8. Although the company has yet to begin rolling out the stable Android 16 update for any of its devices, the addition of more models to the beta program suggests that a stable release may be just around the corner.
The Android 16 preview program for Asus devices is like a closed beta program, as users are not allowed to reveal its information. Asus has not disclosed any official information about Android 16 for its devices beyond announcing the preview program.
If you own the Zenfone 11 Ultra or Rog Phone 8 and want to experience the Android 16 update before its official release, you can easily join the preview program. Before applying for the preview program, make sure to take a backup of your device.
To apply for the Android 16 preview program on your Asus device, you can follow these instructions:
- Update your device to the latest stable update.
- Now go to Settings > System > System Update.
- Tap the gear icon on the top right corner.
- Select Enroll in Android preview program and click Agree.
- Fill in the application and tap submit.
If your application is accepted, you’ll receive an email to the address you used to login to your Asus member.
If you install the Android 16 preview program, you won’t be able to roll back to the Android 15 version. So, it’s advisable to avoid installing the preview program if you want a stable experience. However, if you’re aware of all the risks and still want to proceed with the update, you can install it from the System Update settings.
