Intel said Dr. Barratt’s extensive experience in scaling and transforming technology businesses will support the company’s ongoing strategy and long-term growth initiatives.
Intel Corporation has appointed Craig H. Barratt, Ph.D., to its board of directors as an independent director, effective immediately. Dr. Barratt, 63, brings over three decades of leadership experience in the semiconductor and technology sectors.
His career highlights include serving as CEO of Atheros Communications, where he oversaw its IPO and $3.1 billion acquisition by Qualcomm, and as SVP at Intel, leading its ethernet, photonics, and networking businesses following Intel’s acquisition of Barefoot Networks, where he was previously CEO. He has also held senior roles at Google, including overseeing Google Fiber and other broadband and energy initiatives.
Dr. Barratt currently serves as lead independent director at Intuitive Surgical, Inc., and sits on the boards of Astera Labs, Inc., and several private companies. He holds bachelor’s degrees in electrical engineering, pure mathematics, and physics from the University of Sydney, and a master’s and doctoral degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University.
