The signing follows extensive technical collaboration between national teams and institutions, including Gabon’s ARCEP, SPIN, ANINF, and telecom operators Moov Africa Gabon Telecom and Airtel Gabon, together with their Equatorial Guinean counterparts.
Gabon and Equatorial Guinea have marked a major step in regional digital integration with the signing of three landmark agreements on November 10, 2025, in Mongomo. The accords, concluded between the ministers of digital economy from both nations, formalize a shared vision to create an interconnected and unified digital space across their borders.
The agreements cover three key areas: the interconnection of fibre optic networks to enhance internet connectivity and stability; the introduction of free roaming, allowing citizens of both countries to communicate at no additional cost while traveling across borders; and the coordination of radio-electric frequencies to eliminate cross-border interference and improve network quality.
The signing follows extensive technical collaboration between national teams and institutions, including Gabon’s ARCEP, SPIN, ANINF, and telecom operators Moov Africa Gabon Telecom and Airtel Gabon, together with their Equatorial Guinean counterparts.
This initiative reflects the strong bilateral cooperation and shared commitment of both countries’ leaders—President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema of Gabon and President Obiang Nguema Mbasogo of Equatorial Guinea—to advance digital sovereignty and regional development. The partnership symbolizes how digital infrastructure can serve as a bridge for connectivity, innovation, and transformation across Central Africa.
