With UNDP support, MPTEN continues to shape the government’s overall ICT and digital economy policies, placing artificial intelligence at the center of the country’s digital transformation agenda.
The Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Digital Economy (MPTEN), in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), held a workshop with sectoral Strategic Development Offices (BSDs) to advance the implementation of the National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Strategy. The session followed the National Workshop on Artificial Intelligence Landscape Assessment (AILA) conducted from October 14-17.
Chaired by Mr. Appolinaire Loua, Director General of the BSD of MPTEN, the workshop brought together general managers and representatives from various sectoral BSDs. Participants reviewed the findings from the AILA diagnosis, discussed their implications across different sectors, and identified initial actions to integrate AI into public policies.
The participatory approach highlights MPTEN’s commitment to developing a national AI strategy grounded in real-world sectoral needs. By leveraging the expertise of BSDs, the Ministry aims to ensure that AI adoption is aligned with practical challenges and opportunities within each sector.
With UNDP support, MPTEN continues to shape the government’s overall ICT and digital economy policies, placing artificial intelligence at the center of the country’s digital transformation agenda.
