Motorola has finally kicked off the stable Android 16 update for the Edge 60 Stylus. The update reportedly started rolling out recently and may take a few weeks to reach all users. This is the first major update for the device, and fortunately, it is also eligible for the Android 17 update.
A Reddit user confirmed receiving the stable Android 16 update on their Motorola Edge 60 Stylus in India. It’s possible that this update is also available in other regions.
As per the screenshot shared by the user, the stable update for the Motorola Edge 60 stylus is being seeded with build number W1VB36.62-22-17. The update size is around 1.65GB, so make sure to download it over WiFi.
While this is the major update for the Edge 60 Stylus, it doesn’t bring major changes or big features that are available on many custom OS based on Android 16. However, there are still some changes and new features that you can explore below.
- Expressive Redesign
- Improved Security and performance
- Protection from malicious apps
- Better compatibility with LE Audio devices
- More transparent background activities
Apart from these, you can expect an upgrade to the latest or previous month’s Android security patch.
If you own a Motorola Edge 60 Stylus, ensure your phone is ready for the update. The update is being rolled out in batches, and if you haven’t received it yet, you can expect it to be available soon.
You can check the update in Settings > System Update. Once the update is available, you can install it. Don’t forget to back up your device before installing the update.
