Honor kicked off MWC 2026 by announcing its latest foldable – the Magic V6. It’s a milestone not just for Honor but for foldables in general, being the first to sport IP68 and IP69 ingress protection. And it’s a proper flagship, equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, triple cameras with a dedicated 3x optical zoom periscope and an upgraded 6,660mAh Si-C battery. Honor Magic V6 From an engineering perspective, this is Honor’s toughest foldable to date. It features a new Super Steel Hinge made of the strongest commercially available steel, and it’s tested at…
As persistent spam complaints have clouded Google’s Rich Communication Services (RCS) push in India, the company is turning to deeper carrier integration to bolster protections on the platform. On Sunday, Bharti Airtel, India’s second-largest telecom operator with over 463 million subscribers, said it had partnered with Google to integrate the carrier’s network-level spam filtering into the RCS ecosystem in the country. The move is aimed at strengthening protections against unwanted messages and fraud on the platform, the companies said. India has emerged as a particularly challenging market for spam and fraud across messaging channels, driven by the country’s vast mobile…
The Honor Magic V6 is one of the first big announcements coming out of this year’s MWC – the most impressive figures on its spec sheet are how thin it is, 4.0mm unfolded and 8.8mm folded, and how big its battery is, 6,660mAh. The phone reaps the benefits of Honor’s partnership with battery maker ATL. Its battery features fifth-generation Silicon-Carbon (Si-C) material. It achieves a high energy density by using 25% silicon content, which is the highest in the industry, according to Honor. As impressive as the Magic V6 battery is, Honor isn’t stopping there and is working on even…
Honor first teased its “Robot phone” with a movable camera arm earlier this year. Ahead of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, the Chinese company provided more details about the device, including how the robot can respond to different situations without commands. The company said that it is planning to launch this device in the second half of this year. Honor said that the robot also has a “personality” and can respond to you with “head shakes” and can also dance to the beat of music. The company noted that users can talk to the assistant on the phone…

The past two weeks have been defined by a clash between Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth as the two battle over the military’s use of AI. Anthropic refuses to allow its AI models to be used for mass surveillance of Americans or for fully autonomous weapons that conduct strikes without human input. At the same time, Secretary Hegseth has argued the Department of Defense shouldn’t be limited by the rules of a vendor, arguing any “lawful use” of the technology should be permitted. On Thursday, Amodei publicly signaled that Anthropic isn’t backing down — despite threats…

In a newly released deposition filed in Elon Musk’s case against OpenAI, the tech executive attacked OpenAI’s safety record, claiming that his company, xAI, better prioritizes safety. He went so far as to say that “Nobody has committed suicide because of Grok, but apparently they have because of ChatGPT.” The comment came up in a line of questioning about a public letter Musk signed in March 2023. In it, he called on AI labs to pause development of AI systems more powerful than GPT-4, OpenAI’s flagship model at the time, for at least six months. The letter, which was signed…
Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series may be named after the year 2026, but the three models feel like they are from different times. The Ultra once again gets the best new features, the vanilla model gets few but important upgrades, while the Plus model, well, there isn’t much to say about that one. The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra boasts a new Privacy Display feature. Compared to the S25 Ultra, it also has wider apertures on its 200MP main (f/1.4 instead of f/1.7) and 5x 50MP telephoto module (f/2.9 instead of f/3.4). Samsung also finally pushed past its self-imposed 45W charging limit…
