LEGOWhen LEGO unveiled its Smart Play system at CES 2026, I’ll admit I was skeptical. Screen-free, interactive LEGO? Could It really compete with classic hands-on LEGO experience? But after digging into the system, I’m pleasently suprised. At the heart of it is the Smart Brick, a deceptively small LEGO piece packed with motion sensors, an accelerometer, a speaker, and proximity detection. It responds to your every move—tilts, twists, shakes—and interprets what it “sees” through Smart Tags and Smart Minifigures. In essence, it brings each build to life in ways I didn’t think were possible.Imagine swooshing a Star Wars ship across…
The Galaxy S26 series, expected to debut next month, may come with satellite communication support. All three models in the lineup have appeared on the FCC database, revealing details about their connectivity features. This would allow users to send and receive text messages even in areas without cellular coverage. However, the feature is…
Data centers have caused the demand for gas-fired power in the US to explode over the past two years, according to new research released Wednesday. More than a third of this new demand, the research found, is explicitly linked to gas projects that will power data centers—the equivalent of energy that would power tens of millions of US homes. The findings from Global Energy Monitor, a San Francisco–based nonprofit that tracks oil and gas developments, come as the Trump administration is both encouraging data center build-out and doing away with pollution regulations on power plants and oil and gas extraction. They…

As the smart glasses market heats up, Snap Inc. (the company behind Snapchat) is doing some corporate restructuring in preparation for the launch of its Spectacles smart glasses later this year. The company is spinning off Specs Inc. as a wholly-owned subsidiary. It says that this move will provide “greater operational focus and alignment” with the new market segment. Snap plans to remain the majority shareholder but says there is a potential for outside investments and partnerships. This will also offer a clearer valuation of the smart glasses business since it won’t be entangled with the company’s social network business.…
