LEDs don’t get the hype they deserve, but they can blow your mind without wrecking your wallet. From mini-LEDs to QLEDs, there’s a screen out there that makes every movie and game pop. Image Credit: SonyOLED gets all the hype, but the best LCD TVs can deliver brightness, color, and contrast that come close to OLED quality—without the wallet shock. What I love about LEDs is the range of options, from simple budget sets to high-end models loaded with features. Don’t get me wrong, if you want a TV to steal the show in your home cinema, OLED still wins.…
A few days ago a report surfaced alleging that Samsung changed the dimensions of the upcoming Galaxy S26. It was initially supposed to be 6.9mm thick, but this was then adjusted to 7.24mm. That seemed odd, but today a new report from the company’s home of Korea purports to explain why it happened. Apparently, Apple is to blame. Specifically, the fact that the Cupertino company kept the iPhone 17 at $799 in the US, not increasing its price compared to its predecessor. Samsung wants the S26 to be priced exactly the same, which is why it allegedly had to make…

Back in 2023, Apple introduced NameDrop as part of iOS 17. This feature lets you share files with another person by simply bringing your iPhone close to theirs. NameDrop also supports sharing of contact information. Now, more than two years later, Google seems to be working on a very similar feature for Android. This was discovered in a version of the Google Play Services under the name “Gesture Exchange”. Android’s version of NameDrop Gesture Exchange also contains an activity called Contact Exchange, and it uses NFC. And above you can see what Google’s NameDrop for Android will…
Microsoft has started linking its AI datacenters across the U.S., creating what it calls a new kind of connected system — an “AI superfactory.” The first two sites in this network are located in Atlanta, which has been operational since October, and Wisconsin, which was introduced publicly this week. Linked by a high-speed private fiber backbone, these facilities are designed to work together on massive AI workloads, splitting and syncing jobs across sites in near real-time. This connected architecture, which Microsoft refers to as Fairwater, represents a shift from isolated cloud regions to a unified and more task-specific infrastructure model.…
