Slow Ventures hosted a three-hour “Etiquette Finishing School” this week, covering topics like the perfect handshake, public speaking, and office decorum. There was even a fashion show with models showing off different looks for different occasions, and then a closing lesson about caviar and wine. The San Francisco Standard reports that a few hundred founders applied for the free program, held at the Four Seasons in SF’s financial district, with 50 founders accepted. Most of the attendees were male. Apparently the idea started as a joke, with Slow Ventures sussing out interest at Y Combinator’s Demo Day. And while YC…

After Tesla shareholders approved a new compensation package that could be worth $1 trillion, CEO Elon Musk appears to be celebrating with a normal weekend on his social media platform X. In an early Saturday morning post with the surely coincidental timestamp of 4:20am EST, Musk posted a video generated by Grok Imagine, the new photo and video tool from his company xAI. As Musk described it, the video was generated by his prompt, “She smiles and says, ‘I will always love you.’” And the video does, in fact, show an animated woman on a rainy street, saying those words…

Introduction Today, we have the vivo X300 for review, a compact gem among a crowd of large slabs of Ultras, Maxes, Pros. Even better, this small flagship does not hold anything back. And the best part – it has already gone global! The vivo X300 series is out now, and it seems it has finally found its footing, and the regular X300 has finally found its identity. See, the X300 is not a sequel to the X200, or X200s, or X200 FE, but to the X200 Pro mini. And this was a smart move given how fragmented the X200 lineup…
Is Apple Fitness+ going to stick around, or is the health service simply not profitable enough to continue offering? Apple insider Mark Gurman, in his newsletter Power On, says that Apple Fitness+ is unlikely to be shut down, but it may actually face some internal pressure in the near future.Apple Fitness+ likely here to stayWhile Fitness+ isn’t exactly a cash cow for Apple, the service has enough users that its cancellation would result in a lot of negative press coverage and online backlash. As Gurman argues, Apple can’t shut down Fitness+ because the bad publicity would be more damaging to…
While Apple’s iPhone already supports texting, calling emergency services, and contacting roadside assistance via satellite connectivity, the company has many more satellite-powered features in the works, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. In-development features reportedly include an API allowing app makers to support satellite connections in their own apps, a version of Apple Maps that allows users to navigate without a cell or WiFi connection, adding photos to messaging, and increased support for “natural usage,” allowing users to connect to a satellite even if their phone isn’t pointed directly at the sky. All of these features would potentially increase the usability…
Samsung’s upcoming S26 series is rumored to come later than its predecessor, and the latest report suggests that Samsung will hold the all-important Unpacked event on February 25. Speaking of the Galaxy S26 series, the latest intel on the Galaxy S26 Ultra suggests that Samsung will replace the venerable 10MP sensor on the 3x zoom camera with a new 12MP one. It doesn’t sound very innovative. Closing off the Samsung thread in this week’s top stories, Samsung’s tri-fold concept was shown in a video from more angles. It’s still sitting behind glass so we’re not getting a hands-on just yet.…
A new report from Mark Gurman details Apple’s ambitious, long-term satellite strategy, which began far before the iPhone 14’s Emergency SOS. The company is now developing new features like off-grid maps, photo messaging, and connectivity that works from your pocket.Apple’s satellite plans go way beyond emergenciesAccording to a new report, Apple’s vision for satellite connectivity is much grander than its current features suggest. The company’s initial goal, which started about a decade ago, was reportedly to bypass cellular carriers entirely.Like the Apple Watch’s original health ambitions, the company scaled back that vision to launch a practical feature first: Emergency SOS…
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton late on Thursday said he is suing online gaming platform Roblox over child safety concerns, accusing the company of “deceiving parents about the dangers of its platform.” In a statement, Paxton alleged that Roblox chooses to prioritize “pixel pedophiles” and profit over the safety of children, and said the platform has become a “breeding ground for predators.” “We cannot allow platforms like Roblox to continue operating as digital playgrounds for predators,” Paxton said. “Roblox must do more to protect kids from sick and twisted freaks hiding behind a screen. Any corporation that enables child abuse…
