Historically, the top-end Ultra from vivo’s X series flagship phones has been reserved for the Chinese market, but this is likely to change as we now have strong evidence that the yet-to-be-announced vivo X300 Ultra will make it outside China this year. According to the GSMA database, vivo might be preparing an international version of the X300 Ultra because the handset has appeared with a different model name that doesn’t match the usual naming scheme for vivo’s Chinese handsets. The model name in question is V2562. That’s great news for users who have settled for the standard and Pro versions…
The AI researchers at Andon Labs — the people who gave Anthropic Claude an office vending machine to run and hilarity ensued — have published the results of a new AI experiment. This time they programmed a vacuum robot with various state-of-the-art LLMs as a way to see how ready LLMs are to be embodied. They told the bot to make itself useful around the office when someone asked it to “pass the butter.” And once again, hilarity ensued. At one point, unable to dock and charge a dwindling battery, one of the LLMs descended into a comedic “doom spiral,”…
A new report from the well-known Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station states that Xiaomi is working on bringing a 9,000 mAh battery to one of its upcoming phones. Moreover, the device will support 100W fast charging, which makes it sound even more ambitious. Moreover, Xiaomi is also working on a 10,000 mAh prototype. If this is true, the upcoming still-unknown Redmi phone will feature one of the largest phone batteries. Some Chinese sources believe that the said phone is the upcoming Redmi Turbo 5, but that contradicts the most recent reports about this phone pointing at a 7,500 mAh battery.…

On Thursday, at the end of Coinbase’s third quarter earnings call, CEO Brian Armstrong admitted that he was “a little bit distracted,” because he’d been “tracking the prediction market about what Coinbase will say on their next earnings call.” “And I just want to add here the words Bitcoin, Ethereum, Blockchain, Staking, and Web3 to make sure we get those in before the end of the call,” Armstrong added. Why blurt those out without any apparent context? As Armstrong hinted, they were words that users on “mention markets” on Kalshi and Polymarket had wagered would be spoken on the call.…
