After a few weeks of closed beta testing, Oppo has announced the ColorOS 16 open beta program for three devices, including the Oppo Reno 14, Oppo Find X8, and Oppo Find X8 Pro. Surprisingly, OxygenOS 16, which is almost similar to ColorOS 16, has also gone live under the Open Beta program for six devices.
ColorOS 16 is the next major update release based on Android 16 for Oppo devices. Since the update is now available in the open beta program, the stable update is likely to be released soon.
The ColorOS 16 Open Beta for the Reno 14, Find X8, and Find X8 Pro is live in Indonesia, Malaysia, and India. Users can apply for the open beta until October 13th. Since it’s an open beta, anyone with an eligible device and region can participate in the program.
How to apply for ColorOS 16 Open Beta
If you own Oppo Reno 14, Find X8, or Find X8 Pro, you can easily apply for the ColorOS 16 open beta by following these steps.
- First, update your device to the latest version.
- Go to Settings > About Device.
- Tap on top of the page and then tap the top right button.
- From the menu, select Beta Program and fill in all the required details.
- Finally, submit the application and wait for the update.
If your application is approved, you’ll receive the ColorOS 16 open beta through an OTA update. Since it’s a beta update, it might contain some bugs. While open beta is usually close to stable, it may not include all the features that are planned for the stable version.
Before installing the update, make sure to take a backup of important data and charge your device to at least 50%.
ColorOS 16 is the next major update for Oppo devices, so many users might want to test it before the official release. As per leaks, the update promises a plethora of new features, changes, and major improvements.
