Yet many organizations are discovering that their greatest AI risk isn’t technical complexity or model performance, it’s shadow AI. This is an entirely new challenge for IT teams, as it is no longer small network switches on desktops; it is now full-on AI tools largely available to anyone. Let’s dive into it.
Shadow AI is the unsanctioned use of public or consumer AI tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot or domain-specific generative models by employees outside approved enterprise environments.
