A brand-new RPG is coming soon from a studio that has some of the best RPGs under its belt. Yes, we are talking about Larian Studios and their upcoming RPG game Divinity. With the success of Baldur’s Gate 3 and the Divinity: Original Sin 2 game, fans are excited about the upcoming Divinity game being one of the best RPG games of the year, whenever it’s expected to be released.
The upcoming game is named Divity (no Original Sin). If you are someone who is looking into entering the RPG genre or are simply excited about everything that Larian Studios is doing, here’s everything that you need to stay up to speed on Divinity.
Divinity: Release Date
The new Divinity game from Larian Studios was announced to the world during the Game Awards show that was held on the 11th of December. The announcement was made with the release of a cinematic trailer for the new Divinity game. While the release date is yet to be announced, it is expected that the game may be released in late 2027 or even in 2028.
Divinity: Expected Platforms
There is no official information about the platform that the game will be on, but it is safe to say that Divinity will be available on PC via Steam and the newer generation consoles, i.e., PlayStation 5,5 Pro, and the Xbox Series X and Series S.
Divinity: Story and Gameplay
Larian Studios has confirmed that it is not necessary for new players to play through the previous Divinity and Baldur’s Gate games. However, players can always follow the previous games to have a much better understanding of the Divinity world and the characters involved from the previous games.
For those who are familiar with the original Divinity games, the game will be taking place in Rivellon- a well-known fantasy world that has a mix of humans, elves, dwarves, and all the elements seen in Larian Studios’ previous games. You will have a lot of elements such as detailed character customization, storyline with depth, and of course, the most liked tactical and turn-based CRPG system.
So far, it is too early to know whether the game will have additional content, and it is not known when and if there will be a closed beta test for the game, either in 2026 or early 2027. What you and fans of RPG games can expect from the new Divinity game will be the building and crafting elements, as well as the ability to progress through the game’s main story according to your choices and actions.
