The meeting aimed to assess the progress of the state’s digital transformation initiatives and identify areas requiring accelerated execution.
The 5th Steering Committee for the eGabon and Gabon Digital Projects was held on Friday, February 20, 2026, under the leadership of the Minister of Digital Economy, Digitalization and Innovation, Mark Alexandre Doumba, with the Ministers of Public Service, Planning, and Health in attendance. The meeting aimed to assess the progress of the state’s digital transformation initiatives and identify areas requiring accelerated execution.
The committee noted that while foundational work has been completed, inter-departmental coordination needs strengthening and the current disbursement rate of committed funds remains too low to produce tangible benefits for citizens. Gabon Digital was highlighted as a strategic investment designed to enhance the State’s capacity to digitize procedures, simplify administrative processes, and improve the quality of public services in line with the President’s vision.
Key decisions from the meeting include strengthening the piloting and tracking of performance indicators, accelerating fund disbursement, consolidating the legal and institutional framework, investing in the training of public servants, and ensuring the sustainability of deployed digital infrastructures. The committee emphasized that digital transformation should deliver concrete services, with less waiting, increased transparency, and greater efficiency.
Members reaffirmed their commitment to moving from a structural phase to an accelerated execution phase, positioning digitalization as a major lever for state modernization, improved citizen services, and economic growth.
