One of Google’s biggest talking points with the launch of its Material 3 Expressive update for Android (and Pixel devices as a whole) was the addition of theme support, which will allow users to further customize their devices beyond simple icon colour swaps and wallpapers. That being said, a new “Pixel Theme Pack” app is now available on the Google Play Store, although there’s a catch.
You see, while the app can now be downloaded on Pixel smartphones (it’ll even install on your device), you can’t use the feature just yet. It will supposedly show up under the Wallpaper & Style menu, although this doesn’t seem to be the case, at least at the moment. It’s now thought that the feature will be accessible once Google pushes an update for Pixel devices.
For those unfamiliar, Material 3 Expressive brings new colours and animations to Google Pixel devices, giving users a bit more in the way of personalization. It also features new motion and touch effects, as well as changes to transparency within visual elements.
