Lenovo has released the Android 16 update for the 3rd generation Legion Tab. This marks the second major Android release for the gaming tablet, which was initially released with Android 14 OS.
Users on Reddit have confirmed receiving the major Android 16 update. It appears that the update is currently available in Europe and may also be live in other regions. The Android 16 update for Legion Tab Gen 3 is accompanied by build number 17.5.10.031 and has a size exceeding 5GB.
Although Android 16 is a major update, it doesn’t introduce many changes or features on Lenovo devices. Other Smartphone brands have introduced extra cool exclusive features with their custom OS, which Lenovo hasn’t done. However, the Android 16 update does bring some improvements and a few new features to the Lenovo Legion Tab Gen 3.
New features include, Live updates, Desktop Window, Group notifications, New Emojis, Embedded Photo Picker, APV codec support, Predictive Back upgrades, HDR screenshots, Advanced Protection Mode, and more.
While things look good on paper, the update seems to have some issues. Some users who have installed the update are not happy with it, as it creates some problems on the device. In this update, third-party launchers are not working properly, and there are a few other issues as well. You can check out user feedback on this page.
The Android 16 update is gradually rolling out in batches. If you own a Lenovo Legion Tab Gen 3, you can check for the update in the Settings. If you don’t see it, it will be available soon. As the update is large, make sure to download it over WiFi. Additionally, take a backup of your data before installing the update.
