Nothing is currently testing the Android 16-based Nothing OS 4.0 update for its devices. The Open Beta of Nothing OS 4.0 is available for multiple devices, including the Phone 3a series. The Nothing OS 4.0 Open Beta 2 for Nothing Phone (3a) and Nothing Phone (3a) Pro is now rolling out with improvements.
The first Nothing OS 4.0 open beta for Nothing Phone 3a and Phone 3a Pro was announced last week with a long list of changes and new features. To further enhance stability and improve the overall user experience, both models are now getting a second open beta.
The second Nothing OS 4.0 Open Beta is a small incremental update for both models, and it’s under 100MB in size. It comes with a small changelog that you can review below.
- Optimised photo capture with a more accurate preview at certain zoom levels to better match the final image.
- Optimised stability of Essential Apps for a better usage experience.
If you’ve already installed the first Nothing OS 4.0 Open Beta on your Phone 3a or Phone 3a Pro, the second OBT will be available via OTA. You can download and install the update directly from the System Update settings.
In case you want to downgrade to Nothing OS 3.2, you can easily do so with a rollback file. Download the required file and then follow the steps below.
- Download the package [Phone 3a | Phone 3a Pro].
- Go to Settings > System > Nothing Beta Hub.
- Select Import File and choose the downloaded package.
- Follow the on-screen instructions and complete the process.
Nothing will soon release the stable version for both models. Keep your device ready for the update by clearing enough storage and taking a backup of your device.
