Nothing has announced the rollout of a new update for the recently launched Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro. The Nothing OS update introduces several new features, including enhancements to Live Updates on the Glyph Bar and a new Relaxation Hub, among others.
Starting with Android 16’s Live Updates, apps that support real-time updates will now use the Glyph Bar of the Nothing Phone (4a) to show the progress. The feature works across the always-on display, lock screen, status bar, and notifications.
Additionally, a new Relaxation Hub has been introduced, featuring Breathing Break widgets. These widgets can be accessed via the widget library and include Focus, Relax, and Calm modes, each with distinct haptic patterns.

The update also brings recommended apps to the Essential Apps drawer, with the option to add them directly to the home screen.
There’s also a new lock screen clock face borrowed from the Phone (3), featuring an exclusive typeface and a wake-up animation. Further enhancements include Depth Effect, along with adjustable clock sizes and alignment options for lock screen customisation.

Finally, Nothing has introduced an AI Eraser feature in the Gallery app. The on-device tool can automatically detect and remove unwanted elements from photos, while also allowing users to manually select what they want to erase.
The Nothing Phone (4a) is currently available for purchase across multiple regions, while the Phone (4a) Pro is set to go on sale in the coming days.
