Oppo Pad SE is now receiving the official ColorOS 16 update. This marks the second Oppo device to receive the latest major update this week. ColorOS 16 is based on Android 16 but includes several exclusive features that we’ll discuss later.
The stable ColorOS 16 update for Oppo Pad SE is currently available in India. Oppo plans to release it in other regions soon.
As usual, the stable update is initially available for beta users. It will soon be rolled out to everyone via OTA update. If you’re a beta user, you can apply and install the ColorOS 16 update immediately. However, ensure your device is running the detectable version OPD2420_16.0.3.500(EX01) or OPD2419_16.0.3.500(EX01).
Once your device is running either of the mentioned build versions, follow these steps to apply and install the update.
- Go to Settings > System & update > Software update > Tap the top of the page > Tap icon on the top right > Beta program > Release candidate > Apply Now
- Detect the update > Download Now – You will receive the new version.
Make sure to take a backup before installing the update on your device. Also, charge your phone to at least 50%.
Oppo Pad SE was released last year with ColorOS 15, and the ColorOS 16 is the first major update for the tablet. As this is the major update, you can look forward to experience new features such as a major design overhaul, improved performance, smoother animations, and a plethora of new features and updated system apps. Apart from these changes, the update will bump up the monthly security patch version.
