It’s been several months since the public release of Android 16, yet many brands, including OnePlus, have not released their official custom UI versions based on it. However, OnePlus is finally gearing up to announce its next major software release, OxygenOS 16, for eligible devices.
Samsung, Motorola, Sony, Xiaomi, and a few others have already started rolling out the stable Android 16 update for their devices. Usually, OnePlus is among the first to join this list, but this year, the company is running behind schedule. However, the wait is almost over, as OnePlus is set to officially announce OxygenOS 16 later this month.
OnePlus has been testing the OxygenOS 16 in the Closed Beta program since August, but hasn’t expanded it to the open beta phase yet. So, following the official announcement, we can expect the Open Beta rollout first, followed by the stable release.
At the announcement, we can expect to see the OxygenOS 16 beta and stable release timeline, official eligible devices, and a detailed overview of its features. There have already been some leaks about OxygenOS 16, hinting at some interesting changes and new features.
While there is still time for the official announcement of OxygenOS 16, you can check out the expected list of devices that will be compatible with OxygenOS 16.
As usual, the OxygenOS 16 process will begin with the latest flagship model, currently the OnePlus 13. So, the OxygenOS 16 open beta will first kick off for the OnePlus 13, 13R, and 13s, followed by other eligible models.
