Oppo has commenced the rollout of the Android 16-based ColorOS 16 update for devices scheduled to receive the official update this month. Three devices, including Oppo K12x, Oppo K13x, and Oppo Reno12 F, have already started receiving the ColorOS 16 update.
Oppo announced the rollout of the ColorOS 16 update for these three models on their community page. While the rollout has begun, it starts with limited regions and will expand to other countries later.
The ColorOS 16 update for the Oppo K12x and K13x is currently rolling out in India, while the major update for the Oppo Reno12 F is rolling out in Indonesia. The update will soon be available to other regions as well.
As usual, the stable update is available immediately for beta users, while it may take some time to roll out to all users. If you are part of the beta testing program, you can get the update immediately if you meet all the requirements. Make sure your device is running the mentioned version to apply for the update:
- Oppo K12x – CPH2667_16.0.3.500(EX01)
- Oppo K13x – CPH2753_16.0.3.500(EX01)
- Oppo Reno12 F – CPH2687_16.0.3.501(EX01)
Once you have the detectable version installed, you can apply for the stable ColorOS 16 update by following these steps:
- Go to Settings > System & update > Software update > Tap the top of the page > Tap icon on the top right > Beta program > Release candidate> Apply Now
- Detect the update > Download Now – You will receive the new version.
Make sure that you back up your data just to be on the safer side.
As you know ColorOS 16 is a major update, it brings multiple new features and changes such as such as a major design overhaul, improved performance, smoother animations, and a plethora of new features and updated system apps. Apart from these changes, the update will bump up the monthly security patch version.
