Vivo has finally announced its decision to introduce OriginOS to the global market with the release of OriginOS 6. The official unveiling of OriginOS 6 is scheduled for October. As promised, Vivo has now kicked off the Android 16-based OriginOS 6 closed beta program for Vivo X200 Pro and iQOO 13 users in India. It’s possible that this beta program may also be live in other regions.
The decision to bring OriginOS outside China is a major one, and users are eagerly anticipating its arrival. There have already been some leaks about OriginOS 6, which reveal substantial changes and new features that will be available on Vivo and iQOO phones with the update.
Vivo has already started preparing for the official launch and introduced the OriginOS 6 closed beta program. Since it’s a closed beta program, not many users will be selected for it. Additionally, it will be an early testing build that may contain minor and major bugs. So the closed beta is recommended to developers and enthusiasts.
As reported by tipster Anir Chakraborty, Vivo X200 Pro and iQOO 13 users can now apply for the OriginOS 6 closed beta program. The official screenshot shows that Vivo is accepting sign-ups until October 8. If you have an eligible model and are willing to test OriginOS early, and are concerned about bugs, you can sign up for it.
To sign up for the OriginOS 6 preview program, go to Settings > System Update > Tap three dots > Select Version Trial. Now follow the on-screen instructions to complete the registration.
Those who want a less buggy experience have to either wait for the public beta or the stable build. The beta program might soon turn to a stable update, as Vivo may not want to fall behind in the update race.
In case your application is accepted and you receive the OriginOS 6 closed beta on your device, make sure to backup important data before installing the update.
