The TechCo will deploy multiple Connectivity on Wheels (COWs), to strengthen network coverage and boost internet capacity across rally zones. The company will also optimize its 5G network in key locations to support high-speed data demands, including global livestreaming and digital content distribution.
In recognition of the global spotlight on the Safari Rally, Safaricom will establish fully equipped media centres fitted with high-speed 5G Wi-Fi to support both local and international journalists. Select media practitioners will also receive bulk mobile data packages to facilitate uninterrupted reporting from rally stages and remote locations outside designated media hubs.

Beyond connectivity, Safaricom will deploy IoT-enabled telematics solutions across the rally’s safety caravan fleet, including ambulances and rapid response units. The smart vehicle monitoring systems will transmit real-time data, automated alerts, and instant incident notifications to command centres, enabling faster and more coordinated emergency response.
“By transforming rescue vehicles into connected smart assets, we are enhancing visibility, improving response times, and strengthening overall safety management across expansive rally routes.”
