While the wait for the official One UI 8.5 update continues, Samsung has reportedly begun internal testing of One UI 9 on the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Earlier, an internal One UI 9 build was also spotted for the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 (SM-F976U) and Flip 8 (SM-F776U). The new One UI version is expected to make its official debut alongside Samsung’s next-generation foldable devices.
The One UI 9 internal beta for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 was discovered on Samsung’s server with the build number F966USQU8CZB3. On the other hand, the internal beta for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 was found with build version AZB1.
These build numbers were first spotted by a well-known leaker, Tarun Vats, who frequently shares new leaks and news about Samsung products. Sammobile has also discovered the One UI 9 internal beta for a mysterious Fold device with the model number SM-F971U. It’s speculated that this device may be priced lower than the Fold 8.
One UI 9 is the next major update based on Android 17 for Samsung Galaxy phones. Google has also commenced the Android 17 Beta for Pixel devices. However, for One UI 9, the public beta may take a few months to roll out, and it’s likely to be available first for the Galaxy S26 series.
However, the One UI 9 is a custom skin and is expected to offer more features compared to the stock Android 17 update.
Since the internal beta of One UI 9 has already begun, it’s anticipated that it will arrive sooner than the previous year’s release. The stable One UI 8 was released in September last year, so we can expect the One UI 9 to arrive even earlier this year, at least for the Galaxy S26 series.
