If you frequently play Supercell’s Squad Busters mobile game, then we’ve got some unfortunate news—the publisher recently announced that it’s ending active development of the game soon, citing its failure to meet the company’s high expectations. While the game will remain available for download and play for a while longer, Supercell anticipates closing it down sometime after the middle of 2026.
The development team says that it will release one final update in December 2025, which will include some planned content. Effective on October 30th, in-app purchases are no longer available, and players who made purchases during 2025 can request a transfer of the value to another Supercell game, such as Clash Royale or Clash of Clans. This transfer window opens on November 10th and runs until the end of 2025.
As a thank you to the community, free bundles and exclusive Squad Busters-themed cosmetics will also be made available across Supercell’s other games starting on November 10th.
Launched in May 2024, the Squad Busters saw initial hype among existing fans and newcomers, although Supercell ultimately determined that it could not find a lasting solution to some of the game’s core problems, even after a significant creative overhaul such as the introduction of in-game Heroes.
