Samsung is yet to kick off its Android 16 journey. Currently, the Android 16-based One UI 8 is in testing for select models. After a delay of a month from the original schedule, Samsung is now expected to release the stable One UI 8 based on Android 16 for its devices this month.
As usual, the major update will be first available for the latest flagship S series, which is the Galaxy S25 series. It will gradually expand to other eligible Galaxy devices over the coming weeks. Apart from Galaxy S25, several other Galaxy devices are scheduled to receive Android 16 in September.
Recently, Guncel Miyiz, a well-known source for the One UI update schedule in Turkey, shared the exact date when eligible devices are expected to receive the update. While the known schedule is for Turkey, the schedule for other regions will likely be quite similar, with only a few days’ difference.
Since Guncel Miyiz is a trusted source, we can assume that the One UI 8 rollout timeline is accurate. As per its schedule, a total of 10 Galaxy devices will receive the One UI 8 update in September. Here is the list of devices:
- Galaxy S25
- Galaxy S25+
- Galaxy S25 Ultra
- Galaxy S24
- Galaxy S24+
- Galaxy S24 Ultra
- Galaxy S24 FE
- Galaxy S25 Edge
- Galaxy A36 5G
- Galaxy A56 5G
The Galaxy S25 devices will begin receiving the update on September 18, while the update for other devices is scheduled for September 25.
Since Android updates are released in batches, it can take even more than a week for them to reach all users. Consequently, while the update will start in September for the mentioned devices, some users might receive it in October.
One UI 8 is an interesting update that brings various improvements and introduces some new features. It greatly improves the overall One UI experience with faster animations and improved UI management. While it doesn’t offer features comparable to One UI 7, it takes the user experience to new heights. You can check the full changelog here.
