Meta recently announced that it will officially discontinue its standalone “Horizon Workrooms” app on 16 February 2026. The company says that this decision results from a shift towards a broader “social ecosystem” that combines various productivity tools directly into a singular main experience.
Once the shutdown takes effect, users will lose all access to the Workrooms app and any associated data will be permanently deleted, and Meta suggests that users should review and secure their information before the deadline. Those logged into the Workrooms website can still view room and profile details, while general meeting information can be retrieved through the Meta Accounts Center.
For professionals using accounts managed by an organization, the ability to save data will depend on specific administrative permissions. Users should act quickly to download their files and meeting history for a smoother transition before the service goes dark.
