The Ministry of Formation and Vocational Education officially launched the first edition of the National Hackathon for Vocational Formation today at the Women’s Sports Center in Ben Aknon. The event was inaugurated by Mrs. Naseema Arahab, Minister of Formation and Vocational Education, as part of the sector’s strategy to foster a culture of innovation and promote entrepreneurial spirit among young people.
The initiative aligns with the directives of President Abdul Majeed Tabun to support innovative projects in digital and modern technologies, including programs such as Innovator and Lasima. The hackathon attracted 447 registered participants from across the country, with 200 candidates selected to form 41 teams representing 37 states. Competitions focus on strategic areas including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, Industry 4.0, renewable energy, web development, and audiovisual production, guided by specialized coaches and sector experts.
Hackathon activities will continue until February 14, 2026, culminating in project presentations and recognition of the most innovative solutions. The event underscores the ministry’s commitment to transforming participants’ ideas into practical projects that respond to the demands of the digital economy and strengthen the role of vocational education in national development.
