Google recently announced that it’s finally bringing Chrome for ARM64 Linux devices, complete with support for a full range of features that are available to Chrome users on other computing platforms. The launch follows Chrome’s arrival for Arm-based macOS computers back in 2020 and Arm-powered Windows devices in 2024. An official post from google reads:
Launching Chrome for ARM64 Linux devices allows more users to enjoy the seamless integration of Google’s most helpful services into their browser. This move addresses the growing demand for a browsing experience that combines the benefits of the open-source Chromium project with the Google ecosystem of apps and features.
Google says that users on ARM64 Linux hardware will be able to access the full Google ecosystem, including support for device continuity and syncing via account sign-ins, including bookmarks, history, and active tabs. Google adds that Chrome will remain secure with AI-based protection against real-time phishing and malware threats, along with support for Google Password Manager and Google Pay.
