If you own a car with Android Auto integration, then you might want to check your vehicle for a new update—Google has finally confirmed the roll-out of Google Meet for Android Auto, which lets users join meetings and handle audio calls directly from their vehicle’s dashboard display, along with hands-free controls.
With that in mind, drivers can now view their upcoming meeting schedules and join active discussions with a single tap. The feature will also support direct audio calls, and even includes a dedicated history tab for quick dialing. For driver safety, Google says that Meet for Android Auto operates strictly in an audio-only mode, without video input between either caller. Additionally, the feature does not require any administrative setup, and is enabled by default for anyone who has the Google Meet app installed on an Android device connected to a compatible vehicle.
The rollout is already live for Rapid Release domains, while Scheduled Release domains will receive the update with full global availability expected by June 26, 2026. Google Meet for Android Auto is available for all Google Workspace customers, Workspace Individual subscribers, and personal Google account holders.
