Asiacell Communications PJSC has announced that it has become the first telecommunications company in Iraq to successfully deploy “IPv6 Dual Stack” technology, following supervision and sponsorship from the Iraqi Communications and Media Commission (CMC).
The company said the network upgrade represents a major step in its ongoing digital transformation efforts, enabling improved connectivity performance for subscribers, including faster internet speeds, enhanced cloud service performance, and infrastructure readiness for 5G services.
According to Asiacell, the deployment of IPv6 Dual Stack allows both IPv4 and IPv6 protocols to operate simultaneously, ensuring a smoother transition to next-generation internet standards while maintaining service continuity for existing users.
The telecom operator added that the development reflects its commitment to adopting advanced technologies and strengthening network capabilities to support growing data demand across Iraq.
