DC fans are in for a treat—game developer Drop Fake recently announced that it’s been working with DC Comics towards the development of DCKO, a new online PvP fighting game for mobile devices. As you’ve probably expected, the game features a roster of some of the biggest heroes and villains from DC comics, mixed with some rather clever gameplay.
Drop Fake says that it’s designed a combat engine that’s built around live action, tag team strategy, and extensive character progression. The controls are pretty straightforward, with standard taps for quick jabs, swipes for medium attacks, and upward swipes for heavy grabs. Beyond the basic inputs, the system also allows for aerial launches, juggle combos, and high-speed defensive play. Players can also build up a meter during battle for high-impact special moves.
DCKO also gives options options for both competitive and solo players, with a real-time PvP mode that connects players directly against human opponents rather than offline AI or cached teams. Matches feature instant adaptation and dynamic mind games, supported by quick-play options and global ranked leaderboards. For solo players, there’s a Player vs. Environment campaign mode which features an original narrative, with Seasonal Missions, Rifts, and Arena challenges.

All progress translates across the entire game, as XP, currencies, stats, and abilities earned in PvE directly enhance a player’s roster for competitive PvP battles. Players can also level up their fighters, alter stat allocations, unlock new abilities, and swap out special moves to shift fighting styles. Visual customization includes classic costumes.
In addition to iconic characters like Batman, Harley Quinn, and Superman, the developers plan to introduce new characters every month post-launch. Players can now pre-register at playdcko.com to receive launch notifications, release details, and development updates before the game launches next year for both Android and iOS devices.
