We suppose it was only a matter of time—game publisher EA recently announced that it will be shutting down The Sims Mobile next year, following a final update this October. A spin-off of the popular “The Sims” franchise, the game first launched seven years ago and received more than fifty updates since its debut.
That being said, the development team announced that the game will receive its final update before the servers are permanently shut down on January 20, 2026, at 1:59 PM UTC. After this date, the game will no longer be accessible to players, and all saved data will be lost. Part of EA’s official statement reads:
First, we want to say thank you. The Sims Mobile and The Sims community as a whole are full of creativity, kindness, and imagination. You’ve amazed us with your stories, builds, and Sims. We’re proud to have shared this journey with you, and as a token of our appreciation, we’ve prepared a few surprises as we head into TSM’s final chapter.
The final update rolled out on October 20, 2025, and marks the last new content for the game in addition to unlimited energy for all players. From this date, players can no longer purchase packs or spend real money within the game, although any existing SimCash, Simoleons, or Tickets can still be used until the final server closure. The game has since been delisted from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store on Cctober 21.
As a final farewell, the team will unlock all Build Mode and Create A Sim (CAS) items for every player on January 6, 2026, before the servers officially shut down two weeks later.
