If you own either the ASUS Zenfone 12 Ultra or the ROG Phone 9 (or even both), then you might want to check your smartphone for a new system update. It seems that ASUS has finally started seeding the much-awaited Android 16 software upgrade for its phones, as noted in ASUS’ Zentalk forums.
That being said, the update weighs in at around 1GB and comes with software version number 36.0810.1810.43. In addition to Android 16, the update also comes with some tweaks including changes to the system navigation settings, and a new “skip countdown” button for the screen recording feature. That said though, ASUS notes that some apps are still not compatible with Android 16, at least regarding this particular update.
If you own an ASUS phone and want to check for the update, the fastest way would be to open Settings > System > System update. In case your phone is not yet eligible for the update, ASUS advises to wait for a bit as the roll-out is gradual across different regions.
