Along with its 500 million monthly active user milestone, social media platform Threads recently announced that it’s now moving its “communities” feature out of beta, and will be introducing a suite of new tools designed to give users more control over their feeds. According to parent company Meta, Threads will now feature its dedicated Communities Hub directly into the main menu, alongside a Community Progress tracker which allows users to see when a trending topic is nearing official community status. Late last week, Anthropic took its new Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5 AI models offline following a United States government export-control directive barring “any foreign national” from using the services. Music streaming platform Spotify recently announced that it’s adding a new social feature to the app by way of “Track Reactions,” which allows users to react to songs within collaborative playlists, using emojis. According to Spotify, the new feature is designed to make shared playlists more interactive, and lets collaborators express their thoughts on song choices.
